Maine Line Magazine Archive Volume 30

Volume 30's covers represent a mixed bag, the Spring 1983 is straight out of the recent past, with the Summer 1983 coming out in a whole new style that would become the default from that day forward. The year of 1983 is a mixed one for the railroad - carloads are down. Revenue is down, costs are up. Profits are shrinking and the margins produced by the railroad are bordering on non-existent. More and more of these issues is about retirees and people in and around the community and not the business - perhaps because there was so much less business to discuss.
