Maine Line Magazine Archive Volume 23
With Volume 22 ending on such a full color cover high note - Volume 23's return to all black and white photos on the cover and a format more akin to Volume 21's covers almost feels like a step backwards. A note from the editorial in the first issue indicates that the Maine Line will officially go to quarterly from every other month. The reason? Cost cutting measure. Although references are made to the 1969-1970 year as having been the toughest for the railroad - the year of 1975 was no picnic. Revenue was off and despite repeated efforts, the potato traffic would not return in great numbers.
