Timetable - September 30, 1940
In the style department this one is sort of a mash-up of the last two timetable styles. The State of Maine is no longer present and we have gone back to the steam loco and keystone from the style before last. However, we have a red theme on this one and the word Modern has been added off to the left. Rail and Bus Service is now above the keystone and Vacationland is below it. Interestingly, Vacationland has been on Maine's license plates since 1936, making the railroad a bit slow on the uptake on this one. Inside the double page ad is about Sportsman and the Aroostook Flyer. The Timetable pages themselves retain the top and bottom borders, although in red this time, matching the front cover. The REA advertisement no longer mentions a dog, but we are invited to visit the kitchen. The largest change in the bus department seems to be the addition of a service between Allagash and Fort Kent.
