Timetable - November 21, 1910
This is the first, in this collection, of the 'Big' timetables. Containing not just the schedules and a large map, this contains population statistics and a variety of marketing material regarding Northern Maine. Although not the first example, even in this collection, it is an excellent example of how the Bangor and Aroostook felt that marketing not just the railroad but Northern Maine was the way to promote both passenger and freight traffic.
Compared to the 1905 Timetable in this collection we have several significant differences. The line to Searsport is now in full force, passenger trains running from Bangor no longer go to Old Town, but go to Northern Maine Junction then either North or South on Bangor and Aroostook rails. Trains are still running from Old Town to various points, but not Bangor. All connections are either at Old Town or at South LaGrange. The trackage in Northern Maine is beginning to fill out - multiple routes are available to several destinations and 'Ashland Junction' is the point where the line splits.
Perhaps the most significant portion of the map is the proposed 'Allagash Line' or Allagash Extension. This was never built. One presumes this was due to a total lack of any sort of significant town or population along the route. There was none at the time and there are none now, 116 years later. In fact much of that proposed route would go through what is today protected wilderness, the Allagash Wilderness Waterway.
