Timetable - November 15, 1943
For the first time in this collection - the name Potatoland Special appears in print. The Bangor and Aroostook only had two 'name trains' for its entire history. A name train is very much a 'flagship' train - the best of the best. The Aroostook Flyer had been a name train for some time - but never carried sleeper cars. The Potatoland Special? Sleeper cars. Good thing too - it departs Bangor in the wee hours of the morning. In reality, the Potatoland is following the schedule of Trains #1 and #8, which has not changed much. Only the naming of the train, which passes it into legend has changed.
