Timetable - April 29, 1957

Currently (February 2026) this collection is missing any timetables from 1956. Therefore we cannot conclusively say when this format, a radically different look from the 1955 timetable went into effect. We can say that the look changed again in October 1958. Unlike most of the timetables in this collection, this one is stapled - creating a two page experience all the way through, with no large fold out. The blue and black cover is striking. On the inside we find that overnight trips to Northern Maine are being pushed (a very old theme for these timetables, but a good one) Dining car service will always be found on B&A trains. Sadly, that would prove not to be true. 
In terms of schedules, the daily-except-Sunday two trains per day, the Potatoland Special and The Aroostook Flyer schedule is now well established. There is a different schedule for the Northbound Potatoland on Mondays, although the reason for this is not clear. The long established trains #9 and #12, the mixed trains between Derby and Greenville remain intact. Even in what is supposed to be a rail-only timetable the bus between Oakfield and Fort Kent (via Ashland) is listed as there are no trains going that way.
