Timetable - April 28, 1947
For the first time in a long while a train appears on the cover of a B&A timetable. Ironically, the keystone logo does not, but does appear on the double page advertisement for sportsmen. That advertisement seems to be identical to the previous timetable in this collection for 1947, but the rest of the color scheme has gone green. The connecting service at Bangor has broken again for the Northbound Potatoland Special - the train is leaving Bangor at 3:15 AM and making its connection at Northern Maine Junction. It is still combined with train #9 for Greenville, splitting at Derby as before. The Flying Yankee is connecting with the Northbound Aroostook Flyer in the same manor, although the Flyer leaves Northern Maine Junction at 4:20 PM. In fact, the Southbound Flyer is connecting with the Kennebec Limited at Northern Maine Junction at 12:55 PM and the Southbound Potatoland Special permits coach (non-sleeper car) passengers to change trains at Northern Maine Junction to avoid a delay of about three hours. Sleeper car passengers are not permitted this as the sleeper cars are exchanged at Bangor.
