Timetable - April 25, 1938

Still retaining the blue tinted cover we have been seeing of late, this timetable has some significant differences compared to the last. We now have an advertisement specifically for fishing in Northern Maine, mentioning how one can get from Boston to Northern Maine in a single day via the Aroostook Flyer. The text for that service is still not in a column on the Southbound side however. For the first time in this collection we see an entire column (right hand side page 6) devoted to graphics promoting the bus service. Frankly the wording of the same column is a bit odd to a modern ear: "A Popular Highway Service for Sportsman - Businessmen and Vacationists" Vacationists? The modern term would be tourists. Interestingly, the Bangor & Aroostook Transportation Company (the official name of the bus service at this time) logo seems to have been made from the top third of the railroad's keystone logo. Although one can appreciate the nod to the parent company, frankly it looks a bit odd.
